U.S. steelmaker Nucor Corp said on Tuesday it agreed to buy nearly all the assets of Metal Recycling Services Inc for an undisclosed amount.
Nucor, the largest purchaser of ferrous scrap in North America, said Metal Recycling will become part of its David J. Joseph Co subsidiary when the deal is closed, which is expected within 30 days of the completion of due diligence and other conditions.
Metal Recycling employs 150 people and expects to process 220,000 tons annually at its processing facility and two North Carolina feeder yards.
